COG Design proudly delivered the logo identity design for the Sutherland Shire Council Lifeguards 100 Years celebration.

The brief was to deliver a logo identity design for the 100 years celebration of Sutherland Shire Council Lifeguards.

The Sutherland Shire is a local government area in the southern region of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Shire beaches are patrolled by council (blue and white uniform) lifeguards.  Surf Lifesaving Volunteer Lifeguards (red and yellow uniform) work with council lifeguards during the summer season providing assistance on weekends and public holidays. Council lifeguards are responsible for the management of some 7km of beaches. Patrolled swimming areas are located at Cronulla, North Cronulla, Elouera and Wanda.

At a high level the creative solution needed to be representative of the type of service the lifeguards deliver and also the environment in which the design will fucntion. The logo would be used on vehicles, apparel, signage, and marketing material. Sutherland Shire Council approached COG Design as we had a reputation for being in touch with the local beaches and the lifeguard function at the beach.
